April 2010 , Dr. Saud Anwar Co-Chair of AMPI joins a team of physicians of
Pakistani heritage to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. A team of
Physicians, Psychiatrists, and Physiatrist along with Prosthetists joined in
the Ct based Haitian American Community Members for a medical mission to
Haiti.
The group saw about more than 700 patients. Hundreds of psychiatric patients with acute stress disorders and other manifestations of emotional trauma were seen. The team was able to help about 15 patients with prosthetic limbs during the visit.
