October 2007, Dr. Saud Anwar Co-Chair of AMPI represented the American
Muslim Peace Initiative in becoming a Co-signatory of “A Common Word”. A
Common Word is an effort to bring the
Muslims and Christians together who make up well over
half of the world’s population. Without peace and justice between these two
religious communities, there can be no meaningful peace in the world. The
future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians. Dr.
Anwar joined a large number of leaders and expert Muslims from all over the
world in joining hands to celebrate the commonalities between Muslims and
Christians.

It is the product of Faith, Strength, Energy, Will, Sympathy, Justice,
Imagination, and the triumph of principle. It will never be achieved by
passivity and quietism.
